Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 (depending on skills and experience)
Hours of work: Ordinarily 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Some out of hours and
weekend work also required (over-time is paid)

We have recently brought all fire services in-house as a means to make sure all our properties maintain very high standards of fire protection. You will be working alongside a multitude of in-house departments including electrical plumbing carpentry and maintenance.
You will work alone and as part of a team to quickly turn a variety of often unusual properties (domestic and non-domestic) into safe and desirable temporary accommodation for young professionals. These properties are mainly located across Central and Greater London.
You will carry out new installs and additions to existing systems, servicing and maintenance tasks and complete paperwork per our company requirements. This position will require you to work on a large variety of open protocol fire alarm systems. If you have closed protocol manufacturer training, that will be a bonus.
To adhere to the work schedule that will be sent to you at the beginning of each week. However, this may vary from day to day due to emergencies or changing priorities. This will be communicated with you by Management and/or the Maintenance Coordinator.
Attend your 1st job of the day at 8am. Carry out the tasks and complete the paperwork to close the job. Use our in-house app-based system to raise another job if further works are required.
Continue to the other jobs for the day. There could be 4-6 jobs a day.
Fire alarm servicing (PPM), maintenance, testing and inspection – Quarterly, Six-Monthly and Annual.
Emergency Lighting (PPM), maintenance, testing and inspection – Monthly, Six-Monthly and Annual.
Reactive call outs to fault find, fix and repair.
Replacement of panels, additions and wiring.
Attendance at the office in N3 is required occasionally to collect materials, catch up with your supervisor and manager and for in-house company training.
Have at least 5 consecutive years’ experience as a fire alarm service engineer (essential)
Understand and be knowledgeable on BS5839-1 (essential)
Results orientated team player (essential)
Ability to prioritise and manage workload and time (essential)
Ability to problem solve and work under pressure (essential)
Be willing to learn (essential)
Full clean driving licence (essential)
Willing and able to work some weekends and evenings (essential)

Having previously worked in social housing (desirable)
Understand the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and current edition of BS7671 (desirable)
