Live-in Guardians is always on the lookout for new Guardians to help protect great buildings in London and other major UK cities from vandalism, arson, theft or illegal occupation (such as squatting). In the context of the current economic situation caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, we’re expecting a sharp increase in the number of empty buildings – old pubs, restaurants, office buildings, until the British economy inevitably bounces back. In short, there has never been a better time to consider being a property guardian.
A property guardian has amazing privileges and important responsibilities. In a nutshell, a property guardian scheme promises the landlord that the property will be supervised 24/7, and will be kept secured against trespass, arson and vandalism. Essentially, the same things you would seek to prevent in your own home!
All of our guardians use one of our properties as their primary residence for as long as they are required, or when they choose to leave the scheme after having given 4 weeks notice. Every property, no matter whether it’s an old factory or a warehouse, will be made habitable, safe, comfortable and possessing all the mod-cons and washroom facilities a residential building can expect. In order to apply, you will need to be able to provide:
As a property guardian working on behalf of Live-in Guardians, your primary concern is to keep the property clean, safe, secure and to immediately report any risk to the property (such as attempted forced entry) using emergency contacts we will give you. We never ask our Guardians to put themselves in potentially dangerous situations. In a nutshell, a Guardian protects on one hand and preserves on the other. Regular cleaning and reporting of leaks, damp, cracks or any other issue will ensure that the property doesn’t fall into disrepair.
Instead of rent, Guardians pay a license fee. This license fee is significantly lower than the rent you would pay for a property with similar facilities and living space located in the same area and sometimes, it’s dramatically lower. Lower living costs allow for living in expensive cities while working as an intern on the first rung of a career ladder and receiving a relatively low salary, for example. Particularly for central areas, Guardians can expect a significant drop in their monthly housing bill, freeing up funds than can be used to improve their lives!
Live-in Guardians is one of the largest Guardian Property Management companies in the UK, we’re experienced, and we take care of our Guardians.
